About

The Senate District 59 DFL Website (www.sd-59.org) is the official website of Senate District 59 DFL. Its purpose is to allow for the communication and discussion of events, opportunities for involvement, ideas and information pertaining to the active membership of the DFL within the Senate District. It is the property of Senate District 59 DFL and therefore falls under the authority of the elected Senate District 59 chair who has the authority to and will enforce the following policies and procedures as it pertains to all aspects of the website.

For the purposes of these rules - a posting, discussion topic, and any communication will be treated the same. This will include any information that can be added to the website in any area, in any format. These terms are to be interchangeable for the purposes of this document.
Users are defined as anyone that has registered with the website and has the ability to post on the site.
The Chair refers to the Elected Chair of Senate District 59 DFL who is elected every two years at the SD 59 Convention. Officers refer to the elected Associate Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Affirmative Action Officer of Senate District 59.

  1. The Chair will be the chief moderator of the site and have jurisdiction over all aspects of the website. The Chair reserves the right to appoint other Senate District 59 DFL Officers to assist in moderating this website when she/he sees fit. Only a majority of the Party Unit body can vote to overrule the decisions of the Chair at a normal Senate District Central Committee Meeting.
  2. Any active member of the DFL party can be a user on the website. A user has the ability to post discussion topics in the forum, add events to the event calendar, use the resources available on the website, and contact anyone whose contact information is posted on the website. All users are required to use both their first and last name as their username on the website.
  3. The Chair reserves the right to exclude and/or terminate anyone from being a user on the website due to misuse, violations of these policies, and/or for being a member of an opposing political party.
  4. Any posted discussion forum topic, page or communication should hold relevance to the operations, platform, and/or positions of the DFL party. All postings are required to have a title and to be signed by the person posting.
  5. No discussion topic, post or communication shall be allowed if it is deemed inappropriate or offensive to the moderator of the website. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of profanity, derogatory remarks, name-calling, gossiping, sexual references, the solicitation of services (no limited to sexual), pornography, or any type of harassment.
  6. Any discussion topic, post or communication may be edited or deleted by a moderator if it violates any of these policies. The moderator that edits the posting will communicate the reasoning for the edit to the author of the post. If the user is in disagreement with the edit or deletion they may appeal to the Chair - whose decision will be held as final.

The Senate District Central Committee has herby adopted these rules by a majority vote.
